Three days to go!

Three days until the Week 1 dino diggers descend on the dig house in Cape Paterson. We will be working the Flat Rocks site near Inverloch once again - initially targeting the layer near the rock we extracted in October 2017 and which yielded a rather interesting mammal jaw.
Field Report Day is on the 23rd February at the Bunurong Environment Centre in Inverloch, where we hope to be able to show off anything cool we find in the first two weeks of digging.

2018 Field Report

I will be sending the 2018 Field Report to the printers tomorrow.  Here is a sneak peek at the front cover. It features the Peter Trusler reconstruction of Victoria's newest named dinosaur Diluvicursor pickeringi (see Herne et al, 2018) wandering along an early Cretaceous riverbank.

The annoucement Diluvicursor pickeringi, our first Eric the Red West dinosaur to be named, was the top-most viewed Zoological Science article in PeerJ in 2018, with more than 11,000 views.

2019 Flat Rocks Dig

The Dinosaur Dreaming crew returns to Flat Rocks in February 2019. We will be on the beach 4 hours either side of low tide, from Feb 8th to March 2nd. Come along and say "hi" and we give you a bit of a tour of the site. If you are lucky, we may even have fossils that we have just found to show you.

2018 Field Report Day

I am delighted to confirm that we will present the 2018 Field Report on Saturday 23 February at the Bunurong Envinorment Centre in Inverloch. This will be the first time we have hosted it during the dig near the actual dig site, so we are quite excited. Registered Friends and crew should get their invitations shortly.
